Achiever Magazine featuring Erika Jordan on hope and healing in hyperbaric care

HHTC News | Published: August 4th 2025, 09:57AM

Founder of Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center recognized for her mission to make healing accessible and life-changing

Achiever Magazine recently spotlighted Erika Jordan, Founder and Hyperbaric Director of Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, in an inspiring feature titled “A Story Fueled by Hope, Healing, and Heart.” The article captures Erika’s unwavering commitment to bridging the gaps in healthcare and ensuring patients receive the treatments they need without unnecessary barriers or delays.

From her early days in emergency response to building a sanctuary for healing in Orlando, New Smyrna Beach, and soon Leesburg, Erika’s journey is one of resilience, innovation, and compassion. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that when care is driven by purpose, it can transform not only outcomes but lives.

Read Erika’s full story below:

There are people who don’t just work in healthcare, they live it. Erika Jordan is one of them. Her journey into the world of healing didn’t begin with a business plan or a title. It began with a simple but profound conviction: everyone deserves a chance to heal, and no one should have to fight alone to get it.

Years ago, Erika stood face to face with the gaps in our healthcare system—where patients were left confused, delayed, or even denied access to potentially life-changing treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). She saw individuals struggling not just with illness, but with the weight of bureaucracy, misunderstanding, and isolation. And while others turned away, Erika leaned in—with empathy, with action, and most of all, with hope.

That hope carried her through the hard days: the ones filled with red tape, the emotional stories of survivors, and the challenge of building a treatment center that prioritized people over process. Out of that struggle, Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center was born—not just as a facility, but as a sanctuary. Erika didn’t just want to treat symptoms; she wanted to restore lives.

Every element of her work reflects that commitment. Her team guides patients through every step—from referral to reimbursement—removing barriers so that healing isn’t just possible, but accessible. Whether through digital education platforms, live events, or one-on-one consultations, Erika’s voice carries the same message: “You’re not alone. There is help. There is hope.”

Her leadership goes beyond the walls of her centers. For over seven years, she has served on the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) committee, now as Operations Chair, passionately raising awareness around radiation injury and the restorative role of HBOT. She is also a tireless advocate for veterans and cancer survivors, working to make this critical therapy available to those who need it most.

Erika’s story is a testament to what’s possible when hope is more than an emotion—it’s a mission. She has built more than a clinic. She has built a movement grounded in integrity, fueled by compassion, and sustained by her unwavering belief that healing—when done with heart—can change lives.

From Emergency Response to Healing Innovation

Erika’s journey through the healthcare sector is a powerful reflection of passion, perseverance, and purpose. With a diverse clinical background that includes credentials in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), Emergency Medical Services (EMT), Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT), and Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS), she has built a career that seamlessly integrates hands-on care, technical precision, and visionary leadership.

As the Founder and Hyperbaric Director of Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, Erika leads with a patient-first philosophy. Her centers—located in Orlando and New Smyrna Beach, with a third opening soon in Leesburg, Florida—offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), a treatment that delivers 100% oxygen in a pressurized environment to accelerate healing and recovery across a broad spectrum of complex conditions.

Erika’s entry into hyperbaric medicine didn’t originate in a treatment room—it was forged in the high-stakes, fast-moving world of emergency response. That early experience shaped her deep commitment to responsive, compassionate care and continues to inform her leadership and clinical approach today.

Path to Transforming Hyperbaric Medicine

With a dual background in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and Emergency Medical Services (EMT), Erika developed a rare blend of analytical precision and crisis response skills early in her career. Her time in emergency care taught her how to remain calm under pressure, think critically in urgent situations, and deliver life-saving interventions. But beyond the adrenaline and intensity, she longed to be part of something deeper—supporting patients through their full healing journey, long after the crisis had passed.

Her training in diagnostic imaging sharpened her ability to detect subtle anatomical and pathological changes, enriching her clinical judgment and deepening her understanding of how the body heals. This holistic perspective made her transition into hyperbaric medicine a natural progression. Erika was drawn to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) because it united everything she valued in healthcare: technical excellence, tangible outcomes, and meaningful relationships with patients.

In 2017, she founded Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center with a bold mission: to deliver medically supervised, outpatient HBOT in an environment where patients feel genuinely supported and understood. As both a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) and Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS), Erika brings a high level of clinical credibility and operational expertise to a field that remains underutilized and often misunderstood.

Her goal from the start has been to demystify HBOT and make it more accessible for individuals suffering from chronic wounds, radiation injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex conditions. “Too often, patients come to us after being told there are no other options,” Erika explains. “We’re here to offer hope and a path forward.”

At the heart of Erika’s approach is a deep commitment to safety, education, and personalized care. Her centers work collaboratively with referring physicians, oncologists, and specialists to build tailored treatment plans that prioritize the individual. Her clinical background allows her to bridge the often daunting gap between medical protocols and patient understanding—ensuring that every person she treats is not just cared for, but truly empowered throughout their healing process.

Mission to Make Healing Accessible and Human-Centered

Erika’s leadership is defined by a rare blend of clinical rigor and compassionate care. With a background that spans emergency medical response, diagnostic imaging, and hyperbaric therapy, she brings a uniquely multidisciplinary perspective to both patient treatment and team leadership. Her experience on the frontlines as an EMT and her technical training as a diagnostic sonographer inform a leadership style that is both grounded and empathetic.

“Technology matters, but healing starts with people,” Erika often says—a philosophy that guides every decision she makes. From the outset, she has focused on building a team that leads not only with skill, but with heart. The culture she’s cultivated at Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center is rooted in purpose and integrity, where every team member shares a unified mission: to transform lives through safe, effective hyperbaric care.

The results speak volumes. Under Erika’s leadership, the centers have celebrated numerous success stories—patients with radiation tissue damage who regain mobility, diabetic wounds that finally heal, and traumatic brain injury survivors who recover clarity and function. These are not just medical outcomes; they are testaments to the trust Erika builds and the clinical excellence she upholds.

Beyond the clinic walls, Erika is a tireless advocate for access and equity in hyperbaric medicine. She works to bridge the often frustrating gap between clinical need and insurance approval, particularly for underserved patients and veterans. Her centers provide full-spectrum support—guiding patients through referrals, authorizations, and reimbursements—ensuring that no one is denied care because of complexity or red tape.

“Patients shouldn’t have to fight for a chance to heal,” Erika emphasizes. “We’re here to make that journey smoother—from the first phone call to the final session.” Through this mission-driven approach, she continues to redefine what patient-centered care looks like in the hyperbaric field, one life-changing treatment at a time.

Vision for Community Impact

Erika’s influence extends far beyond the walls of her treatment centers. For over seven years, she has played a key leadership role with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC), where she currently serves as Operations Chair. In this capacity, Erika combines her clinical insight with hands-on leadership in community outreach, fundraising, and large-scale event planning. Her involvement is not just professional—it’s deeply personal. “We walk for our patients. We walk for survivors. And we walk because the fight isn’t over,” she says.

Through MSABC, Erika continues to raise awareness around radiation injuries and the vital role hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) can play in helping survivors heal more fully after treatment. Her passion for community education shows up across multiple channels—from digital platforms and live events to one-on-one patient consultations—each designed to spread both hope and understanding.

With the upcoming opening of her third clinic in Leesburg, Florida, Erika is set to expand access to care for even more patients across Central Florida. Yet, her vision stretches well beyond physical expansion. In the years ahead, Erika aims to:

  • Launch provider education programs to train more clinicians in evidence-based hyperbaric protocols
  • Mentor the next generation of hyperbaric technologists and clinical specialists
  • Advocate for policy reform and broader insurance coverage for HBOT
  • Continue supporting clinical research and veteran-focused initiatives
  • Grow her team while maintaining the compassionate, patient-centered culture that defines her treatment centers

“I’m proud of how far we’ve come,” Erika reflects. “But I’m even more excited about where we’re going. There’s still so much more healing to be done.” With each step forward, she continues to redefine what’s possible in hyperbaric medicine—rooted in integrity, driven by purpose, and always powered by hope.
