Support breast cancer research and survivors by walking with us and entering our raffle

 

Breast cancer continues to affect far too many lives each year. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, and it impacts families and communities everywhere. Supporting those fighting the disease and the researchers working toward new treatments and a cure is more important than ever.

Breast cancer accounts for 1 in 3 of all new female cancers each year, and the American Cancer Society estimates that in the U.S. in 2024: 

• About 316,950 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. 
• About 59,080 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed.  
• About 42,170 women will die from breast cancer. [1]

 

At Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, we have seen firsthand how breast cancer affects patients, loved ones, and survivors. That is why we have proudly participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk every year since 2019. In 2025, we are showing up once again.

Who?

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is an initiative started by the American Cancer Society with the goal of ending breast cancer as it exists today by uniting communities (like Orlando), companies (like Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center), and individuals (like YOU!) 

 

What?

This year, we invite you to participate in the 28th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Orlando presented by AdventHealth. The event (along with similar ones across the country) raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

As we’ve done the past few years, we’re building a team for the Making Strides of Orlando event. Our very own Erika Jordan, hyperbaric director and founder of Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, is also the logistics chair for the Making Strides of Orlando committee this year, following a successful tenure in this role in past years. We invite you to join us by walking alongside us to fundraise or donate to our Hyperbaric Healing team.

Where and when?

If you’d like to walk with us, the event takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, with opening ceremonies at 7:00 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Northeast Corner of Lake Eola Park (566 E. Robinson St., Downtown Orlando).

While the opening ceremonies are optional, they’re a lot of fun! They include entertainment, survivor celebrations and gifts, team activities, sponsor tents, refreshments, giveaways, and more.

 

Why? 

By signing up to fundraise and walk with us, you’ll be helping the American Cancer Society fund the future of life-saving cancer research and patient programs, such as Road to Recovery, Reach to Recovery, and our Hope Lodges.

At Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, we treat many patients who are suffering from the side effects of breast and other types of cancer, including non-healing surgical wounds and delayed radiation injury.

With our lives being touched daily by breast cancer survivors, we’re committed to walking for:

“We’re incredibly excited to contribute in support of not only the wonderfully strong women we treat but also those fighting breast cancer across the United States and around the world,” shares Erika. “I’m especially excited because my sweet toddler Ella and baby Eva will be ‘walking’ with the Hyperbaric Healing team, too.”

 

Special raffle to support Making Strides

For the second year in a row, we are excited to share that Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center is hosting a special raffle, with all proceeds going directly to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
