We’re joining the fight against Breast Cancer!

Cancer, HHTC News | Published: September 12th 2019, 05:21PM

Learn about our fundraising efforts in support of the American Cancer Society

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, after skin cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, in the United States in 2019:

  • About 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.
  • About 62,930 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be diagnosed (CIS is non-invasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer).
  • About 41,760 women will die from breast cancer.[1]

Thankfully, the prognosis for women diagnosed with breast cancer continues to improve — due to increased awareness, earlier detection and better treatments.

Right now, there are 3.1 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. But there is still a long way to go when it comes to conquering this terrible disease, and we’re committed to join the fight.

Why are we fighting breast cancer?

As with so many people, our lives are touched on a daily basis by breast cancer. At Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, we treat many patients who are suffering from the side effects of breast cancer, including non-healing surgical wounds and delayed radiation injury.

“That’s why we have pledged to make a difference,” says Erika Jordan, founder of Hyperbaric Healing. “We’re incredibly excited to contribute in support of not only the wonderfully strong women we treat, but also those fighting breast cancer across the United States and around the world.”

Making Strides

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer.

These amazing events raise money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

This year, we’re building a team for the Making Strides of Orlando event on Saturday, October 26, and we invite you to join us!

Our founder Erika is also donating her time to support the Logistics Committee for the event.

To mark the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re also hosting a fundraising bake sale on Tuesday, October 1.

Stop by Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center between 11 AM – 2 PM and enjoy pink lemonade and delicious sweet treats generously donated by Purple Tulip Artisan Cookies and Nothing Bundt Cakes!

All donations will go directly to the American Cancer Society.
