We’re once again making strides against breast cancer in Orlando!
Learn about our passion for fighting breast cancer and how you can support the cause by joining or donating to our team
Breast cancer accounts for 1 in 3 of all new female cancers each year, and the American Cancer Society estimates that in the U.S. in 2022:
- 287,850 new invasive breast cancer cases will be diagnosed in women, and
- 51,400 new ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) cases will be diagnosed.
With such a high prevalence and a threat posed to both women and men, it’s essential that we do all that we can to support those fighting breast cancer and the researchers seeking new treatments and a cure.
Our team at Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center is passionate about fighting breast cancer, which is why we’ve participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and fundraiser since 2019, and we’re teaming up again this year!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is an initiative started by the American Cancer Society with the goal of ending breast cancer as it exists today by uniting communities (like Orlando), companies (like Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center), and individuals (like YOU!)
This year, we invite you to participate in the 26th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Orlando Presented by AdventHealth. The event (along with similar ones across the country) raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
As we’ve done the past couple years, we’re building a team for the Making Strides of Orlando event. Our very own Erika Jordan, hyperbaric director and founder of Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, is also the logistics chair for the Making Strides of Orlando committee this year after a successful tenure in this role during past years. We invite you to join us by walking alongside us to fundraise or making a donation to our Hyperbaric Healing team.

Where and when?
If you’d like to walk with us, the event takes place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 with opening ceremonies at 7:00 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Northeast Corner of Lake Eola Park (566 E. Robinson St., Downtown Orlando).
While the opening ceremonies are optional, they’re a lot of fun! They include entertainment, survivor celebration and gifts, team activities, sponsor tents, refreshments, giveaways, and more.
By signing up to fundraise and walk with us, you’ll be helping the American Cancer Society fund the future of life-saving cancer research and patient programs like Road to Recovery, Reach to Recovery, and our Hope Lodges.
At Hyperbaric Healing Treatment Center, we treat many patients who are suffering from the side effects of breast and other types of cancer, including non-healing surgical wounds and delayed radiation injury.
With our lives being touched on a daily basis by breast cancer, we’re committed to walking for:
- Our patients
- Our family
- Our friends
- Survivor fighter, Subira Folami
- In loving memory, Ayshia Arcenauxe Price
“We’re incredibly excited to contribute in support of not only the wonderfully strong women we treat, but also those fighting breast cancer across the United States and around the world,” shares Erika. “This year, I’m especially excited because my sweet baby Ella will be “walking” with the Hyperbaric Healing team too.”
